This is a guide to moving into your new home. If followed the big day should go smoothly and be a positive experience.

At 2 weeks prior to moving you should:

• Obtain quotations from removal companies and insurance companies for your new home.
• Arrange your gas, water and electricity bills to be transferred.
• Arrange change of address cards for people who will require them.
• Make a list of items to pack and name each room.

1 week prior:

• Start packing.
• Remove unwanted items.
• Inform post office to re-direct post.
• Send out your change of address cards.
• Remove all items from your loft.
• Inform friends who may be needed to help with packing.

1 day prior

• Finish your packing.
• Get good nights sleep.

On the day

• Remove all items from your old home.
• Check against your list to make sure everything is accounted for.
• Secure and lock all windows and doors.
• If you’ve planned today well you will enjoy it.
